This work began with scanning immigration documents I have accumulated since first applying for DACA in 2012—timestamps of my existence and movement as an immigrant in the U.S. Alongside these, I incorporate ID cards, passport photos, childhood portraits from Ecuador, family albums, petitions, and government correspondence. Repetition and layering fracture and reconfigure these images, mirroring the ways memory, identity, and place remain in flux.

Fragmented imagery and text create a dialogue between past and present, personal and political, evoking a sense of both impermanence and endurance. The shifting materiality of these works—printed surfaces, translucent layers, the painted chain-link fence—embodies the instability of borders and the structures that seek to contain us. These amalgamations of textures and forms resist fixed narratives, instead offering space for fluidity, re-imagination, and speculative futures.
